Liverpool didn’t start their season well following a loss to Crystal Palace in the FA Community Shield. Oliver Glasner’s side made sure that the Shield remains in London as they went on to beat the Reds on penalties.
The Merseysiders followed up with a comeback as they went seven games unbeaten across all competitions. However, there were some worries regarding Slot’s start as Liverpool always seemed to let winning be a problem in the final minutes.
Slot’s men always lost leads and only scored winners in the final minutes of the match. This kept working until they visited London again to face the Eagles a second time.
This time, though, things ended the same, but the chain of events that led to the 2-1 conclusion was different. Glasner’s men had given Liverpool a taste of their own medicine as Eddie Nketiah scored a winner during injury time after they lost a lead in the 87th minute.
Following the game, there has been a lot of criticism, specifically considering the defence. One of the standout stars was Frenchman Ibrahima Konate, as the defender looked lost with Palace capitalising on set pieces.
Liverpool Konate transfer update

Konate is already set for Real Madrid, rumours say, but after his recent performance against Crystal Palace, it looks like the Reds will let him leave after finding a replacement.
According to Football Insider’s Mick Brown, the Reds are now open to letting the Frenchman leave. After a series of tries to renew his contract, the Reds might have given up totally.
“I’m told Liverpool are prepared for Konate to leave. They’ll need to bring in a replacement, of course, because they don’t want to be left short at the back, but if they can replace him, they’re happy to let him go.”

Marc Guehi’s interest is evident proof of a decision
Brown also told Football Insider that Liverpool’s interest in Guehi was enough proof that they were open to Konate leaving as his contract expires at the end of the season.
“That was made evident with their efforts to sign Marc Guehi in the summer; they wanted him to come in as the new partner for Van Dijk.”
“Obviously, they weren’t able to get Guehi in, so Konate is still a very important player for them, and they can’t afford for him to keep making mistakes.”
“I expect when the January window opens, they’ll be making efforts to bring somebody in, and that will allow them to let Konate move on, probably to Real Madrid.”
