Sadio Mane was a talismanic presence in the Liverpool sides that won the Premier League and the Champions League and was one of the greatest signings made by former manager Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool have moved on from Mane comfortably with players such as Luis Diaz coming in and making a name for themselves on the right-hand side of their attacks.
However, Sane remains the gold standard of wingers for Liverpool and the club are looking to bring in someone who could have the same kind of impact on the team in the coming years.
Liverpool’s recruitment team are vigilant about young talents making waves across the world and the club have been tracking several of these players at the moment.
It has been claimed that Liverpool believe that they might have spotted the next Mane in Senegal and are desperate to take him to Merseyside in the coming years.
The club likely to face competition from Jurgen Klopp himself
Amara Diouf has already made his debut for Senegal despite being just 16 and is attached to the Generation Foot academy.
The Generation Foot Academy has provided the Premier League with names such as Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Matar Sarr and Mane himself.
Diouf has been tipped to replicate these players and move on to a bigger club once he turns 18 in 2026.
According to TBR Football, Liverpool and Chelsea are amongst the Premier League clubs who have their eyes on the teenager and are keen to have a deal in place.
The Reds see him as the boy who has the talent to go on and replicate Mane’s feats at Anfield.
However, Liverpool are set to face the familiar sight of Jurgen Klopp in the competition for his signature
The former Reds boss will become the Head of Soccer at the Red Bull Group and has already identified the 16-year-old winger as a potential target.
Can you name the club Liverpool sold these players to?
He is expected to push the Red Bull Group to sign the teenager once he officially starts his role in January and place him at one of their clubs.
FC Metz are one of the partner clubs of Generation Foot academy and are expected to try and sign Diouf soon.
However, if Klopp has his ways, the winger would go straight to one of the clubs controlled by Red Bull in the near future.
Liverpool are pushing hard to position themselves as a viable option for the 16-year-old but Klopp is keen to beat his former club to the winger’s signature.
