Liverpool delivered devastating Mo Salah verdict

Mohamed Salah and Eden Hazard have been teammates at Chelsea

Liverpool are grappling with the prospect of losing Mohamed Salah on a free transfer at the end of the season. The forward has yet to agree to a new deal and negotiations are yet to bear any fruit.

Salah will be out of contract at the end of the season and Liverpool remain in talks with his representatives over a new deal for the 32-year-old attacker.

He has prioritised staying at Liverpool over other options such as a move to Saudi Arabia or other European clubs but the forward is pushing for a three-year deal, which the Reds are yet to offer.

The Merseyside giants want to hold on to him but are keen to ensure they do not get trapped into a long and expensive contract for a player who is on the wrong side of the 30s.

Liverpool are pushing to keep one of their modern greats at the club but there are suggestions that he could be on his way out of Anfield.

Salah would likely leave – former Premier League star

Richard Dunne admitted that it is more likely that the forward would leave rather than stay at Anfield at this stage of his career.

The former Premier League star feels that the attacker has reached that age where he might want to try something different and he remains an ambitious player.

He also believes Salah could be demanding the kind of contract that Liverpool might not want to offer as it would make no business sense.

Dunne also added that winning the Premier League would be the ideal way for the winger to sign off from his time at Anfield in the summer.

“I think that Salah might be the one out of the three that would leave. He almost threatened it a couple of years ago, everyone heard the stories that he wanted to move on. I think he’s probably getting to the stage where he does want a new challenge”, he told Gambling Zone.

“Like every superstar that leaves, you think it’s the end of the world for your football club, but there will always be a replacement. Top clubs always find someone to come in and do the job.

“I think Salah’s been fantastic for Liverpool. I would imagine the money and the length of contract that he’s looking for is probably beyond what Liverpool are willing to go to. Liverpool have got to be true to themselves in terms of the business side of it.

“For Salah, he’s done everything in the Premier League. If he can finish this season as a champion again, I think that might be the time for him to move on, although I still think he’s got plenty and plenty to offer Liverpool.”
