Liverpool suffered a shock defeat on Sunday.
After picking up an important win midweek in the title race, the reds were brought crashing back down this weekend. Fulham put the reds to the sword as they capitalized on multiple mistakes to take a 3-1 lead in the first half. Virgil Van Dijk and Andrew Robertson were just two of multiple Liverpool players who made sloppy mistakes at Craven Cottage. After the game, Arne Slot said the errors were ‘disappointing’:
”Yes, of course, but not only me – the players themselves, the teammates, the fans. But one of the reasons why we are in the position we are in is we don’t make a lot of mistakes and if we do players try to make up for them. Now, this is also what we tried to do with the second goal but, unfortunately, instead of the ball being deflected [and] going behind, it went into the goal.”
Fortunately for Liverpool, Arsenal also dropped points on Saturday. Which means the reds still maintain their 11-point lead at the top of the table with seven games to go.

Liverpool could return for England star

On Sunday, Mohamed Salah was marked out of the game by Fulham. The Cottagers made it difficult for the reds to even get the ball into him in dangerous areas. Liverpool’s other attacking options on the pitch failed to make any impact. And it took Luis Diaz coming off the bench to score late in the second half, but it was too late to secure a draw.
The attack is an area the reds clearly need to address. Liverpool are set to return for Jarred Bowen this summer. According to Football Insider, the club are keeping an eye on the West Ham star. Bowen falls into the role of an attacker who can replace Salah, or play alongside him this summer. And according to an exclusive from West Ham Zone, the Hammers could listen to offers for the 28-year old. The London club value Bowen at around £75million.
With how the season has gone this year for West Ham, Bowen and some other players could push for a move away. His teammate Mohamed Kudus has also been linked with a move to Anfield.
Jarred Bowen has nine goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season.
