Liverpool conduct scouting trip for £86m-rated Manchester City midfield target

Liverpool are looking at opportunities to bring in more creativity into their squad as they continue to assess options for the upcoming summer transfer windows.

The Merseyside giants are sitting at the top of the Premier League table after winning five of their opening six Premier League games this season.

New Liverpool boss Arne Slot has done well to quell the fears around the squad’s shortcomings following an underwhelming summer transfer window.

However, the Reds are keen to back the Dutchman in the winter transfer window with funds and are believed to be interested in signing an elite defensive midfielder.

But Liverpool are also looking forward and expected to be in the market for more creative midfielders, maybe in the summer transfer window next year.

They are assessing several options and Georgiy Sudakov is one of the creative midfielders Liverpool are keeping tabs on.

Liverpool scouts run the rule over Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder

Sudakov was heavily linked with a move away from Shakhtar in the last summer transfer window but he stayed put at the club.

However, several clubs remain keen on the Ukrainian midfielder and it has been claimed that Liverpool are intensifying their scouting on the player.

According to TBR Football, Liverpool scouts made the trip to Germany to watch Sudakov in action for Shakhtar against Atalanta.

Several players were being watched but the Reds were predominantly there to watch the Ukrainian midfielder and his performance.

However, they were not alone as it has been claimed that Manchester City scouts were also present to keep tabs on Sudakov.

Shakhtar are likely to demand somewhere around £86m if either of the two clubs formalise their interest in the player in the upcoming summer transfer windows.

Liverpool will continue to keep an eye on Sudakov before taking a call on whether to make a concrete move to land him in January or next summer.
