Come this summer, Liverpool will be active in the transfer market.
This comes after two windows of relative inactivity. Since Arne Slot arrived at Anfield, only two first team players have been signed. With one being sent out on loan for the rest of the campaign. Slot has had to deal with the current set of players he inherited. And this has gone exceedingly well, with how Liverpool have been this season.
The Dutch coach’s new style at Anfield has brought the best out of some players who underwhelmed last year. Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch are having the best season of their Liverpool careers. Gakpo looks like a completely different player from last season. Ryan Gravenberch’s performances this campaign have him firmly in the race for Player of the Year.

Liverpool watch £62M transfer target

The reds will look to revamp their attack this summer. Multiple reports have suggested that Arne Slot will have new attackers before the start of next season. Liverpool could possibly sell Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz this summer. Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Diogo Jota as they look to bolster their front line. The reds will also assess Darwin Nunez at the end of the season, and will make a decision on his future. FC Barcelona have still been linked with Luis Diaz since the start of last year.
Liverpool chairman Tom Werner was in the stands on Sunday as the reds beat Wolves 2-1 at Anfield. Arne Slot’s side maintained their seven-point gap at the top of the table with the win. Goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah were enough to seal all three points in a closely contested game.
Wolves forward Matheus Cunha scored the only consolation for the opponents. The 25-year old scored his 12th goal of the campaign at Anfield. Cunha has a £62.5million release clause in his new contract according to The Telegraph. The Brazilian put pen to paper on the new deal at the start of the month. Liverpool are one of the teams linked with a move for the forward, with Arsenal also in the race. Everything suggests that the Brazilian will leave Wolves in the summer.
Cunha release is a perfect opportunity for the reds
Liverpool will definitely be in the market for a new striker. Darwin Nunez has not worked out since his big money move a few years ago. Arne Slot has preferred to use Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota up top this season. A release clause at that fee is a perfect deal for Liverpool. The reds need to act fast to beat their competition this summer.
