Transfer plans continue to fall in place for Liverpool ahead of the summer.
It is quite clear the squad will undergo some sort of overhaul. Arne Slot has been able to assess the squad this season. In the January window, the Liverpool boss mentioned that he was working with Richard Hughes on transfers.
“At the moment we have most of our players fit, so we will have this discussion tomorrow, me and Richard [Hughes], about these players,”
It looks like Slot and Hughes will work together on making changes to the squad this summer. Liverpool are reportedly targeting multiple areas of the team to improve. Slot can end this season with a treble; the Premier League and Champions League are still in reach. Liverpool can win their first trophy in the League Cup final later this month.
This summer, the reds are set to back Arne Slot to prepare for next season.

Liverpool are yet to contact major transfer target

The attack is set to be a major focus for the reds this summer. According to reports, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could all leave. Arne Slot has asked for new players in attack. The Liverpool boss values versatility in multiple roles across the front three. Something Jota, Nunez and Diaz have failed to excel at this season.
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Liverpool will also be in the market for a new defender. With Van Dijk out of contract and the recent reports surrounding Ibrahima Konate, the reds could lose two starters before next season. Romano also added that no contact has been made with Bournemouth regarding Dean Huijsen:
“Let’s see what Liverpool decide to do because I expect them to sign an important centre-back in the summer transfer window.
“[Dean] Huijsen could be an attractive option, but again, at this point, still no negotiation, still no direct contact.”
Huijsen reportedly has a £50million release clause in his contract, and Liverpool are said to be very interested in the Spaniard.
Reds need to move fast on Huijsen
At £50million, the Bournemouth defender is certain to attract the biggest clubs in Europe. After the stellar season he has had in the Premier League, he could change clubs before next season. Liverpool really need to sign a starter at center back, with the futures of Van Dijk and Konate up in the air. Arne Slot cannot go into next season without two of his best players.
