I am told – Liverpool gets demoralising Trent Alexander-Arnold update

Liverpool should be celebrating a big 2-1 win over Chelsea and the start Arne Slot has made as manager at Anfield but the club are being forced to confront almost daily rumours surrounding the future of some of their star men due to their current contract situation.

Fans are growing tired of the constant speculation surrounding the future of a few players who are yet to sign new contracts to replace their current deals that expire at the end of the season.

Liverpool are not worried about the speculation surrounding Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk has claimed that talks are ongoing between his representatives and the Reds over a new deal.

However, the club are desperate to avoid the scenario of local boy Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving on a free transfer next summer given the optics it would generate.

The 26-year-old is a Liverpool-born Red and at the peak of his powers but Real Madrid are pushing hard to convince the player to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid will only make an offer in January when he will be free to talk to clubs outside England but you can read it here that the Los Blancos are aware that the defender won’t sign a new deal with Liverpool.

I am told the Liverpool star wants the Real Madrid move

Mick Brown, a former scout at Manchester United and Tottenham, has his ears on the ground and has made a big claim about Alexander-Arnold’s future.

He stressed that the defender wants to move to Real Madrid and admitted that a transfer in January could also be in the offing if Liverpool want to bag some money from his departure.

Brown conceded that if they were any other club beyond Real Madrid, Alexander-Arnold would have continued at Liverpool but conceded that the lure of playing for a club of their size would be too much to ignore for the player despite his love for the Merseyside giants.

“I’m told he wants to go to Madrid”, he told Football Insider.

“From the player’s point of view, a move to Real Madrid will always appeal. The manager there already knows him from his days on Merseyside.

“And if his contract situation is such that it allows him to explore a deal in January, I’ve heard there’s a very strong possibility that move will happen.

“If you took Real Madrid out of the equation, any talk over his exit would be a non-story. Liverpool don’t want him to go and he wouldn’t want to move.

“But you throw Madrid into the running and all of a sudden it all changes.

“I fully expect that move to happen, and as much as Liverpool will want him to stay, turning down the chance to become a Galactico at Madrid would be too much to ask.”
