Trent Alexander-Arnold has decided on his future.

Liverpool are now set to lose one of the club’s best ever players. The defender is set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been at Anfield since he was five years old. He was spotted early by the club, and quickly rose up the youth ranks before making his first team debut in 2016.
Trent was a key part of Liverpool’s success under Jurgen Klopp. The reds won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup among other trophies during Klopp’s era.
The 26-year old never made it a secret that his career lied outside Liverpool. He granted an interview saying he wants to become one of the ”best in the world”:
“I think cementing a legendary status within football, whether or not it’s recognised in five years or not, I think what I do between now and five years will be, potentially in 15, 20 years time… I’ll look back and I think these five years will cement a legendary status in football [for me].
“Whether it’s recognised or not who knows. It’s all perception, but I think it [the next five years] will cement it.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold Madrid contract details
Liverpool came close to selling the defender in January. After Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal picked up a season-ending injury, the club were in the market for a replacement. The Spanish side offered a bid early in the January window, but Liverpool rejected. The reds tried to hold talks and renew Trent’s contract, but to no avail.
Sacha Tavolieri has now revealed Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract details:
According to the report, the 26-year old has signed a five-year deal with the Champions League holders. It is claimed that he will earn over €15million a year in wages, which is close to €300,000-a-week. Trent will also end huge bonuses in his contract. Sources say the England international’s signing bonus will be “equivalent to a reasonable transfer sum”. Real Madrid’s latest free agent signing Kylian Mbappe reportedly earned up to €16million as a signing bonus in his first season. Trent’s signing bonus may be around that range.
Liverpool stood no chance
In the end, the reds could not really compete to re-sign Trent Alexander-Arnold. The ambition of Madrid in recent years has shown that they are willing to pay premium fees to sign free agents. Add that to competing for trophies and the Champions League every season, and it was really a no-brainer for the England international.
