Liverpool are at a crossroads this summer.
Arne Slot took over the team after Jurgen Klopp left the club last year. The Dutch coach has done a phenomenal job so far, and has convinced fans that he was the right successor. With just a few months left till the end of the season, Slot can make history by winning the Premier League in his first year in charge.
This would start the Slot era at Anfield. The reds have been moving towards this stage over the past few years, and this summer might be the most crucial moment yet. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are all set to leave when their contracts expire. All three have been a huge part of Liverpool’s successful era under Jurgen Klopp.
After the departure of the likes of Fabinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, the departure of this trio could kickstart a new era.

Trent Alexander-Arnold set for Liverpool exit

Over the past week, news dominating the headlines about the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold has emerged. The 26-year old is finally set to put speculations to bed as he prepares to sign for Real Madrid. Trent has been linked with the Champions League holders for over a year and is set to make the dream a reality.
Alexander-Arnold joined Liverpool as a six-year old and climbed up the ranks in the youth team before making his senior debut in 2016. He came into the team and commanded a starting position, and has been one of Europe’s best right backs ever since. His story at Anfield has been a great ones for fans to follow.
With fans unhappy over his rumoured exit, and questioning his loyalty to the club, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has revealed the true motive behind the move:
“He wants to aim to win the Ballon d’Or. I think he has reached the conclusion that to reach his potential, he has to move abroad and leave his comfort zone,” Balague told BBC Sport.
“He wants to conquer the world and I find that admirable. If you have a bit of empathy, forget about tribalism, you should clap him out. He’s a Liverpool kid that fell in love with Spanish football.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to return from injury next week, with just months remaining on his current deal.
