Everton are reportedly set to complete a shock £20m signing of a Liverpool winger, in a deal that has stunned fans across Merseyside. The surprise move marks a rare direct switch between the rival clubs and could be finalised within days, sources say.
Ben Doak caught the eye during pre-season with Liverpool last summer, and he was loaned out to Championship Middlesbrough, where he was super impressive in the 2024/25 campaign.
The 19-year-old Scottish winger is set to return to Merseyside for pre-season training, and Arne Slot wants to have a look at the young winger during the summer.
However, he seems likely to move on from Liverpool, with Everton pushing hard to convince the youngster to cross the Merseyside bridge in the ongoing transfer window.
Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?

Doak had a fruitful spell at Middlesbrough, but Liverpool already have a few wingers in their first-team squad, and the club are keen to bring in one more if they can sell Federico Chiesa or Luis Diaz.
The path to the first team looks blocked, and according to inews, Everton have explored signing the Liverpool youngster in the ongoing window.
David Moyes is a fan of Doak and wants to start the era at Everton’s new stadium, the Hill Dickinson Arena, by stealing one of the top talents from Liverpool.
However, a deal is going to be difficult as while Liverpool are prepared to sell him, they have slapped a £30m asking price on the winger.
Everton are keen, but are not ready to offer more than £20m for a young winger who is still unproven at the Premier League level.
Doak would be keen to join Everton if a deal gets agreed upon, as he wants to play regularly in the top flight next season.
