Liverpool have shown ambition in the market this summer after winning the Premier League last season, and are pushing hard to take the squad to the next level. They have emerged as a major attractive destination for world-class stars, with players now rejecting more money to seek a move to Anfield.
Arne Slot and Liverpool are not prepared to stand still after winning the Premier League, and have moved swiftly to secure early deals in the ongoing transfer window.
Liverpool have already confirmed Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival from Bayer Leverkusen for a deal worth £30m this summer, and are closing in on an agreement worth £42m for Milos Kerkez.
However, all eyes are on their pursuit of Florian Wirtz, where Liverpool are expected to spend a club-record fee to take the German to Anfield in the ongoing transfer window.

Florian Wirtz has rejected more money to seek a move to Anfield

Bayer Leverkusen have already rejected two offers from Liverpool for Wirtz, and are sticking to their £126m valuation of the German midfielder.
Liverpool have made progress in talks with the German club, and they are calm about the situation as the player is clear about wanting to move to Anfield.
Bayern Munich’s failure to convince Wirtz has stung the German champions, as they were sure about signing the player after finalising an agreement over a contract with the club.
According to the Bayern Insider, what shocked them more is that the player rejected a more lucrative offer from Bayern Munich in favour of Liverpool.
Wirtz is set to earn somewhere between £16.5m and £18.5m once he completes the move to Liverpool, while Bayern Munich offer him a contract worth more than £20m per year.
The attacking midfielder has been patiently waiting for the Merseyside giants to negotiate a fee with Leverkusen before he moves to Merseyside this summer.
