Liverpool have been carefully planning for the summer transfer strategy for months, which also includes the potential departure of several players. However, one of those stars has thrown a wrench into the club’s plans for the ongoing transfer window.
The Merseyside giants have shown ambition in the market, and their pursuit of Florian Wirtz is a sign of their intent and their willingness to take their squad to the next transfer window.
However, Liverpool’s transfer plans also heavily depend on the club getting rid of a few fringe stars to free up squad space as well as wages for new signings.
Liverpool have already sold Caoimhin Kelleher for a fee of £18m to Brentford, but their plans for another outgoing star could get derailed in the ongoing transfer window.

A title hero has talked about his future at Anfield

Federico Chiesa has been heavily linked with a move away from Liverpool, after a disappointing first season where he only made one Premier League start.
AC Milan have opened talks to sign him on loan from the Reds, and Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also interested in getting their hands on him.
However, Chiesa has not ruled out staying at Liverpool and claimed that he will sit down with the club and his agent to discuss his future at Anfield.
“The year is over. But it’s an experience I would do again”, Chiesa told Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness.
“Soon, I will sit down at the table with the club, Fali [Ramadani] and my family to find the best solution. I wouldn’t mind staying in Liverpool at all.”
The winger wants to stay at Liverpool, but given his ambition of playing in the World Cup next year, Chiesa could be forced to move on from Anfield in the ongoing transfer window.
