Liverpool Boss To Axe Star in £55m Deal to Fund Crucial Transfer

A top Liverpool star could be on the move in a shock £55m transfer exit, with talks now at an advanced stage. The player is reportedly close to finalising terms with a new club, potentially marking one of the biggest exits of the summer window and a major part of the club’s plans.

Liverpool have already signed three new players for a fee in excess of £180m and have major plans to spend more, including a potential £200m double deal to sign two forwards.

However, the Merseyside giants require a few sales in the coming weeks to streamline the squad and make space in the wage bill for more new arrivals this summer.

Liverpool are now making progress in talks to sell a forward in the ongoing transfer window, with an exit becoming increasingly likely for a shock deal worth £55m.

Darwin Nunez closes in on a Liverpool transfer exit

According to Fabrizio Romano, negotiations are ongoing between Napoli and Liverpool for Nunez’s transfer to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

The striker has approved a transfer to the Serie A champions and is now waiting for the two clubs to work out an agreement over a fee.

Liverpool are trying to finalise a package worth £55m for Nunez’s transfer, but Napoli are working hard to negotiate down the final price.

The Serie A giants are trying to finalise the structure of the deal to ensure the financial feasibility of the whole package.

The Premier League champions would have made more money if Nunez had agreed to move to Saudi Arabia, but the forward wants to stay in Europe.

He is sold on a move to Napoli, where he wants to get a chance to work under Antonio Conte.

Liverpool need to sell Nunez as soon as possible

While the Reds are keen to get the best price possible from his sale, the club do need to get a deal over the line sooner rather than later.

Liverpool want to sign a striker soon, and Alexander Isak is the prime target for the club, with Hugo Ekitike likely to be the fall-back option.

However, the Merseyside giants cannot make any meaningful headway in a deal to sign a forward until they move on Nunez from the squad.

They need the funds from his sale as well free up space in their wage bill to bring in a new striker in the ongoing transfer window.

Nunez’s sale is of the utmost importance, and the Reds are likely to compromise on the final price to ensure they move on the Uruguayan as soon as possible.

The striker is aware that he has no future at Liverpool and would likely want his future sorted out before he returns for pre-season training next month.
