Clubs line up late move for Liverpool striker

Liverpool are set to greenlight some moves ahead of Monday night’s transfer deadline.

The club have made it clear that there will be no arrivals this month. Rumours of departures have dominated the news since the start of the year. Mohamed Salah, and Darwin Nunez have been linked with moves to the Saudi Pro League. However, the Reds have kept their stance and the duo will see out the rest of the season.

Last week, Arne Slot mentioned that he would have a discussion with Richard Hughes before the transfer deadline. The Liverpool boss was able to assess the club’s fringe players in the Champions League last week. Slot made one clear observation on which player would remain at Anfield:

“At the moment we have most of our players fit, so we will have this discussion tomorrow, me and Richard [Hughes], about these players,” said the Liverpool head coach.

“But there’s definitely one of them that will not go on loan, and I think you know which one I mean… James McConnell.”

James McConnell will remain at the club this month, as Arne Slot sees him as key to the team. The young midfielder impressed in the Champions League, and will most likely be backup to the current first choice midfielders. One player who could be set to leave is Jayden Danns.

Danns attracted loan interest from Championship clubs including Stoke, Blackburn and Preston. According to Football Insider, Blackburn and Sunderland are pushing to seal a move for the youngster before the deadline. The Black Cats are in the lead, and could complete the deal soon.

Danns featured in the Champions League clash against PSV. The 19-year old has three goals in nine appearances this season. The striker is highly rated, and is seen as a first team star by the club.

Loan move best option for Jayden Danns

Cup games are a very good start for a young striker like Jayden Danns. The real test of how good he can be is playing at a high level like in the Championship. Harvey Elliot played some years in the Championship and it shaped him into the player he is now. The club has made a great move to send him out on loan. Liverpool fans should be excited at the future of this young prospect.
