Liverpool boss Arne Slot has finally had his say on a potential transfer target.
The Reds continued their march to the Premier League title with a hard fought win over Bournemouth. Mohamed Salah scored a brace as he climbed to 178 goals in the Premier League history. The Egyptian international is now six goals behind Sergio Aguero in the all-time standings.
Salah has had an outstanding season and is a favourite for the Ballon D’or. His form this season has made many fans wonder why Liverpool are hesitating to offer him a new contract. Reports claim the forward is happy to sign a new deal at the club if they match his terms. Salah is said to want a new deal in excess of £400,000 a week.

Salah is not the only first team player at Anfield stalling on a new deal. Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold could follow him out of the door in the coming months. Trent has had discussions with Spanish giants Real Madrid this year, while Mohamed Salah is actively being pursued by Saudi Pro League clubs.
Aside finding a long term replacement for Trent if he leaves, a left back is also priority for the club. The decline of Andrew Robertson has been quite noticeable of the past year. Kostantinos Tsimikas has also failed to convince the team that he is ready for a permanent starting role. Liverpool have been linked with Bournemouth left back Milos Kerkez.
The Hungarian international has been fantastic since he arrived in the Premier League. After the Reds beat Bournemouth at the Vitality on Saturday, Arne Slot had this to say about the defender:
“I don’t think I have to talk about players that we are interested in, let alone a player from Bournemouth, who’s playing over here.
“He’s having a great season, as many, many, many other players here as well.
“And that shows you probably how good of a manager you have over here and what a great sports director you had over here and maybe still have.”
Kerkez would be a great fit for the team
The 21-year old is young and energetic with an eye for goal. His athleticism is fantastic, and he would have no issue replicating what Robertson has done in the past. If he eventually joins, adapting to the first team would not be an issue. His national team captain is Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai. The two are reportedly very close friends.
