Club urged to ‘cover their ears’ to the Liverpool interest in potential Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement

Liverpool have decisions to make over their squad in the coming months with several of their players’ futures at the club under the scanner.

The Merseyside giants sit at the summit of the Premier League table after seven games and are looking like a real contender to win the league this season.

They intend to be more aggressive in the winter transfer window to rectify the mistakes they made last summer when they failed to sign a defensive midfielder.

The Reds are pushing to bring in a midfielder in January but Liverpool could be looking for a new right-back in the summer due to the question marks over Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future.

The Liverpool boy has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and the European giants are growing confident of signing him in the summer.

Fiorentina defender Michael Kayode has emerged as one of the players Liverpool are tracking as a potential replacement for Alexander-Arnold in the summer.

Journalist wants Fiorentina to ignore the Liverpool interest in Kayode

The 20-year-old right-back is considered a real talent and has been heavily linked with a move away from Fiorentina.

Many believe he will move on from the Serie A club next summer and Liverpool are believed to be considering making a move for him at the end of the season.

However, journalist Luca Calamai has insisted that Fiorentina must make sure that they hold on to Kayode for now.

He urged the Italian club to ignore Liverpool’s interest in the player and focus on keeping him at the club.

“Fiorentina must cover their ears to Liverpool’s possible flattery for Kayode”, Calamai wrote on FirenzeViola.

Liverpool are still pushing to convince the defender to sign a new long-term contract and continue his career at Anfield.

However, the club are planning ahead to make sure that they have a replacement lined up if the local boy leaves next summer.
