Liverpool have had a few issues this season.
The reds’ fantastic season was derailed in the space of seven days. Just before the international break, Liverpool suffered two bad results which shocked their season. Paris Saint-Germain came to Anfield in the second leg of the Champions League tie and took an early lead. The reds managed to keep out the French side for the rest of the 90 minutes, and went to extra time and penalties, which they lost.
A few days later, Liverpool suffered a shock defeat to Newcastle in the League Cup final. Arne Slot missed out on the chance to win his first trophy with the club.
Both games showed some glaring issues in the reds’ first team.

Liverpool target will be available this summer
The first is that Liverpool lacked quality in their squad depth. Against Paris Saint-Germain, the reds looked to the bench and could only bring on Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones. While the French side could call on talented players like Desire Doue and Goncalo Ramos. There have been points in this season where Arne Slot has rotated his squad to maintain freshness. But anytime Liverpool leave out some key players, they have struggled to win games. The reds were knocked out of the FA Cup by Plymouth when they rested over five first team stars.
Secondly, Arne Slot has had issues with the Liverpool attack. Outside Mohamed Salah, the rest of the options have failed to impress this season. The reds’ second highest scorer in the Premier League this season is Luis Diaz with nine goals. But the club will look to the transfer market bring in new faces up front. Arne Slot revealed that signing a striker will be a priority this summer.
Sacha Tavolieri has reported that Aurelio De Laurentiis has placed Victor Osimhen on the transfer list. The Nigerian forward is on fire on loan at Galatasaray this season, scoring 30 goals for club and country this season. Osimhen has a €75million release clause, and Liverpool have been previously linked with the striker.
Osimhen could be the answer
With Arne Slot not a big fan of Darwin Nunez, the Uruguayan is set to leave the club this summer. He has failed to justify the huge fee he arrived at Anfield with. Liverpool need someone to rely on for goals, and Victor Osimhen could provide exactly that. The Nigerian international would cost less than the reds initially signed Darwin Nunez for.
