Liverpool could be set to lose more first team stars this summer.
The reds were able to push through some moves on Monday night’s deadline. The biggest move for Liverpool was loaning Jayden Danns to the Championship. The young striker signed a new deal before completing the loan move. Liverpool did not make a first team signing in January, as Arne Slot is happy with the current squad.
Fans are anxious bout how the season will end, complaining that the team needed reinforcements. However, Liverpool still sit top of the Premier League with a game in hand.
Virgil Van Dijk said after the Bournemouth game that the team needs to focus on the next game:
“We are still in all the competitions. The boys that came on today did well and that is what we need. That is the positive thing about the big squad. Everyone needs to feel a part of it.
“Why should we look at the table? It is February 1st. Just focus on the games we have ahead. Big or close gap, we still just have to win our games. That is the only thing we have an influence on. Let’s see what it brings.”
The reds are also through to the knockout round of the Champions League.

Liverpool were able to hold off any attempts to sign their best players in January. The reds rejected a bid from Real Madrid for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Liverpool also rejected huge offers from Saudi for Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez. The club are adamant that they will decide to wait to the summer to make any transfer decisions. That will include the contract renewals of Salah, Trent and Van Dijk.
Chelsea are planning to launch an offer to sign Luis Diaz, according to Colombian outlet Antena2. The Blues believe they can persuade Diaz to leave Anfield in the summer. The 28-year old has not been offered a new contract at Liverpool after how well he has performed. The reports add that Chelsea have planned to make him one of the highest paid players at Stamford Bridge.
Should the reds sell Luis Diaz?
Luis Diaz currently has two years on his contract. Since last year, he has been linked with Barcelona, and now Chelsea. At 28, he is not getting any younger, and Liverpool can afford to cash in on him in the summer. The biggest factor will be if the reds offer the Colombian a new deal this year. If the club does not give him a new deal, Chelsea can easily swoop in to sign Luis Diaz.
