Liverpool have prepared big plans for the summer, with a rumoured marquee signing to arrive at Anfield.
The Reds are six points clear at the top of the Premier League with a game in hand. Last week’s win over Bournemouth further solidified Liverpool’s title aspirations. The reds beat Bournemouth at home; inflicting just the third loss the Cherries had suffered this season. Arne Slot’s side also sailed through to the knockout round of the Champions League, where they await their opponent in the round of 16.
Liverpool’s aspirations of winning the quadruple will be put to the test on Thursday night. The reds will need to overcome a 1-0 deficit to Spurs at Anfield to reach the League Cup final.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool signed these players from?
Liverpool target Ligue 1 marksman

Slot has turned this Liverpool side into a formidable team this campaign. They are one of the best attacks, and boast one of the best defensive records across Europe. However, goal scoring seems to be the reds’ Achilles heel. Even thought Liverpool have scored a lot of goals, most of them have been from Mohamed Salah.
Arne Slot has chosen to use Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota as strikers this season ahead of Darwin Nunez. It has now been reported that Liverpool will assess the Uruguayan at the end of the season. The reds have been linked with Lille striker Jonathan David.
David’s former teammate, Jose Fonte, has told the striker to choose between Liverpool and Arsenal:
“I’d love to see Jonathan David at Arsenal, I think he would thrive there. Arsenal are crying out for a striker with his qualities, they play good football and they would suit him perfectly. Chelsea have a good young squad with up and coming players, that would be another good option for him if it isn’t Arsenal.
“I could also see him at Liverpool if Mohamed Salah leaves, although Salah plays on the right, David has pace, finishing ability, link-up play, he plays like Arne Slot likes to. At the moment I wouldn’t want him to join a club like Manchester United during a really difficult situation.”
David is free to negotiate with foreign clubs, as his contract expires this summer. The striker has impressed this season – he has scored the most penalties in Europe’s top five leagues, and has the highest expected goals (xG) in Ligue 1. His performances in the Champions League against Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Liverpool have showed he can make the step up to the big leagues.
