Liverpool players are flying high at the top of the Premier League table with Arne Slot making an immediate impact since taking charge of the first team from Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.
The Reds have emerged as a real contender to win the Premier League this season under the new manager and a win over Chelsea on Sunday further cleared doubts about their quality.
While Slot is focused on the first-team squad and the present, sporting director Richard Hughes and his team are also responsible for the club’s future and developing young talent for the coming years.
Several young Liverpool players are currently out on loan with the club hoping that a stint away from the club would help them further develop their game.
Owen Beck is one of the players who left Liverpool on loan last summer and joined Championship side Blackburn.
The 22-year-old missed three games recently due to a red card but was back in the team in Blackburn’s 1-0 win over Swansea City over the weekend.
The Welsh full-back is a certain starter under John Eustace when fit and available and the Blackburn boss is a big fan of the player.
We are fortunate to have the Liverpool youngster – Eustace
Beck was impressive in a solid defensive performance against Swansea and the Eustace lavished praise on the young defender.
He stressed that the left-back is an exceptional talent who is learning from the experienced players around him.
The Blackburn boss is certain that Beck has a big future ahead of him and is going to be a huge member of the squad at the Championship club this season.
He doesn’t want to put too much pressure on the young defender but conceded that Blackburn are lucky to have a player of his quality in their squad.
“Owen was exceptional, that is why he’s here”, Eustace was quoted as saying by the Lancashire Telegraph.
“He’s a very young, talented player. He’s got other good young players around but also experience around him too. They want to help him and they’re always talking to him.
“He’s had a brilliant game against a couple of really tricky wingers today for Swansea. He dealt with them very well.
“He will have a huge future in the game, I am sure. We have really good competition at the club and Owen will learn a lot.
“He’s come from Liverpool, he had a good experience up in Scotland last year. We don’t want to put too much pressure on him, he might be up and down at times, but we’re very fortunate he’s here.”
