Aurelien Tchouameni denies Real Madrid have won the race to sign him for €100million which opens room for Liverpool to claw back into the race.

The 22-year-old is one of the best midfielders in the world and a move to a club like Liverpool or Real Madrid will take his game to the next level.

Joining either club will transform his reputation and catapult him into the fight to be the top club in Europe, with Madrid winning the Champions League final in Paris last month.

Liverpool have come a long way under Jurgen Klopp but they are yet to best Los Blancos under the German, with the manager unable to beat them on four occasions.

Signing Tchouameni ahead of Liverpool would be another win over the Reds for the Spanish side but, according to the player himself, he has yet to make a decision on his future.

“No, not yet,” he told French newscaster Telefoot, when asked if he had made a decision on which club he will join if he leaves AS Monaco.

Telefoot reports that despite Tchouameni’s insistence that he is yet to choose between Liverpool and Real Madrid, the La Liga has received confirmation from the midfielder that he wants to join them this summer.

“I’m not troubled by [rumours], because it’s a position I’ve always wanted to be in,” he continued.

“As long as I’m followed by the top clubs, that means I’m doing good things.”

According to reports, Monaco are demanding €100million for Tchouameni which puts Liverpool at a massive disadvantage given Madrid’s incredible financial power.
