Liverpool planning double signing for €55million winger and his teammate – Reds willing to swap £17m forward

Takumi Minamino

Liverpool are preparing to reinforce their squad to prevent sales from hurting chances of success ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Sadio Mane is close to a Bayern Munich move while Divock Origi is set to join AC Milan on a free transfer with his contract set to expire at the end of June.

Losing both is going to really hurt Liverpool.

Sadio Mane was the most important attacker at the club in the second half of this season with the Senegal star being revitalised in a central role.

Sadio Mane

Divock Origi’s departure is really going to hurt Liverpool more than many realize with his lethal finishing and willingness to play a squad role vital to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The German manager has a tough job on his hands to replace Mane and Origi but he’s reportedly keen to add Raphinha to his squad.

The Brazilian forward had a good season for Leeds United and was so important for the Whites as they managed to remain in the Premier League.

In 36 games, he scored 11 goals and assisted 3. Now those aren’t exactly elite numbers but playing for a side fighting relegation for a full campaign is hardly conducive to scoring a bucket loads of goals.

Raphinha

The Sunday People reports that Liverpool are planning a double swoop worth £120million to sign Raphinha and Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips. According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds want at least €55million for Raphinha.

Liverpool are also prepared to offer Takumi Minamino to sweeten a potential deal with the Japan international valued at £17million.

The Reds are also in the market for a new central midfielder and have identified the 26-year-old as being someone who can come in and improve them.

A move for Aurelien Tchouameni fell through with the Frenchman likely to join Real Madrid this summer and while Phillips is a very good player, I don’t think he’s what Liverpool need or should be targeting this summer.

Especially not at the price point that Leeds would want to do business.
