Liverpool have surprised many observers by emerging as real Premier League title contenders at the start of the season alongside Manchester City and Arsenal.
The Reds have sent shockwaves across the Premier League with a brilliant start to the campaign where they have won six of their opening seven league games.
Liverpool are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City, who have won the league in the last four years, and Arsenal, who finished second in the last two seasons.
Tougher challenges lie ahead for Liverpool, especially in the Premier League where the Reds will face Chelsea and Arsenal in back-to-back games after the international break but the Reds players are garnering praise from all quarters.
Chelsea have been picking up steam under new manager Enzo Maresca and Arsenal have again started the season in a way that suggests that they will be in the title race towards the end of the campaign.
Arsenal eyeing a big role for an injured star in their game against Liverpool towards the end of October
Liverpool would want to make a title statement when they visit the Emirates to take on Arsenal but the Gunners are also not expected to take a step back.
The north London club are currently missing club captain Martin Odegaard who suffered an ankle injury in the last international break.
He is expected to return to training after the international break this month and Arsenal have set a timeline for his return to fitness.
Arsenal are trying to make sure that Odegaard is fit and prepared to get involved in the game against Liverpool on 27th October.
They want him to be fit enough to actually influence the game and help them beat a rampaging Reds side in north London.
However, journalist Ben Jacobs claimed that Arsenal are also keen to make sure that they do not rush him back into the team.
“Martin Odegaard remains weeks away from being physically fit. And then, of course, you’ve got to get him match fit in addition to that”, Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT.
“So I’m told at this stage that there’s no rush to get Odegaard back, despite his clear importance to Arsenal, but they want him involved and fit and influencing the Liverpool game in the Premier League, as opposed to Shakhtar in the Champions League, and that comes at the end of October.
“So that’s what the player and club are looking towards to try and get him sharp 100% and ready for that Liverpool game, which still gives him the best part of four weeks.
“But if he needs longer, no undue risk will be taken.”
