Liverpool suffered a shock exit from the FA Cup this weekend.
The reds lost 1-0 away to Plymouth Argyle in their fourth round tie. A penalty from Ryan Hardie early in the second half was enough to see off the Premier League leaders. The result came as a surprise as Plymouth sit near the bottom of the league in the Championship. Arne Slot was unhappy with the result and the performance.
The Dutch coach made a lot of rotation to the team, as he rested some key players. After the result, Slot said he had no regrets for fielding a ”weaker” team:
”No, because you never know what will happen if we would have played with our starters over here. I think we’ve seen during this season, we’ve seen a few times already, that it’s a game plan, a playing style, which is difficult for our starters, but also for the ones that played today. So, constantly long balls, second balls, long balls, second balls. It’s difficult for every team.”

Liverpool now have three competitions available to win. The reds have already booked a place in the League Cup final against Newcastle. Arne Slot’s side also sit top of the Premier League with a six point lead. Next month, the reds will find out their opponent in the Champions League round of 16.
Reports from around the club have suggested huge changes will be made to the Liverpool squad this summer. With the pending departures of some players, the window will be pivotal. Transfer moves will depend on if Salah, Trent and Van Dijk decide to leave at the end of their contracts. Liverpool’s captain has been linked with a move to three big European clubs this week.
One player that has been linked with a move away from Anfield is Diogo Jota. Anfield Watch have revealed that Liverpool are open to selling the 28-year old this summer. The reds are said to be frustrated about the forward’s availability. Since joining the club, Jota has missed 95 games due to injuries. This season alone, the Portuguese forward has been out for 16 games. Arsenal are said to be seriously interested in Jota, as they look to solve their own attacking woes.
Reds need to move on from Jota
Diogo Jota has shown his usefulness for Liverpool. He has been a dependable source of goals in crucial games. But at 28 years old and recurring injury issues, it might be time to move on. If Liverpool receive a good enough offer, they should part ways with the player.
