Liverpool are expected to further reinforce their midfield in the upcoming transfer windows despite the emergence of Ryan Gravenberch this season.
The Reds wanted to sign a defensive midfielder in the summer but their priority target Martin Zubimendi declined a move to Merseyside in favour of staying at Real Sociedad.
It seems not much can be done to change his mind about not leaving Real Sociedad in the near future as well and Liverpool are now looking at several other midfield targets.
Liverpool want to back Arne Slot in the winter transfer window and plans are in place for the club to try and sign an elite defensive midfielder in January.
However, the Merseyside giants are looking at other midfield profiles as well and several other players are being closely watched at the moment.
Ukrainian midfielder Georgiy Sudakov has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while and they conducted scouting missions on him earlier in the season.
The Reds have done more scouting on the player in recent weeks but are now set to face even more competition for his signature.
Arsenal have joined Liverpool in pursuit of the Shakhtar Donetsk star
The Gunners are also in the market for midfield reinforcements and according to CaughtOffSide, Arsenal have also been keeping tabs on his performances.
Newcastle United, Tottenham and Aston Villa have also sent scouts to watch the player but Arsenal and Liverpool are ready to make the next move.
The two Premier League giants have been impressed enough to consider stepping up their interest in Sudakov in the coming months.
They are expected to watch more of him in the coming weeks and put plans in place to make a move for him in the January transfer window.
However, he is likely to be an expensive signing as Shakhtar were happy to reject a €40m offer from Napoli in the summer.
They are likely to demand somewhere around €65m before they can agree to sell the player in the upcoming transfer window in January.
