The two Premier League giants have been impressed enough to consider stepping up their interest in Sudakov in the coming months.
They are expected to watch more of him in the coming weeks and put plans in place to make a move for him in the January transfer window.
However, he is likely to be an expensive signing as Shakhtar were happy to reject a €40m offer from Napoli in the summer.
They are likely to demand somewhere around €65m before they can agree to sell the player in the upcoming transfer window in January.
