Arsenal and Chelsea stunned as Liverpool steal wonderkid deal in stunning twist

Liverpool are keen to get ahead in the race for young stars whose price is yet to explode, but that is one of the most competitive markets. However, the Reds appear to be in pole position to land a teenage prodigy ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea this summer.

Arne Slot wants to change the make-up of his squad over the summer transfer window, and wants his own stamp on the team after winning the Premier League.

The Liverpool manager wants to bring in young players who could replace some established stars in the team and bring down the overall age of the squad.

The Merseyside giants are looking at several young players, and they are now pushing towards signing a bona fide teenage prodigy in the upcoming transfer window.

Liverpool in the mix for a teenage prodigy

Jorrel Hato has been on Liverpool’s radar, and his potential arrival has been endorsed by club captain Virgil van Dijk, who has played with him for the Netherlands.

However, the Reds appear to be closing in on Milos Kerkez as their first summer signing, and Chelsea and Arsenal have been pressing to sign Hato.

But according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are still very much in the race for the Ajax star, and are pushing to secure a deal for his signature.

“Let me start with Jorrel Hato, this talented defender from Ajax. For sure, he’s a player on the list of Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League”, Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“So both clubs are monitoring the player, and for sure he’s on the list.”

Kerkez’s arrival won’t deter Liverpool from signing Hato as the Dutchman is a multi-functional player who can play in several positions in defence.

His ability to play as a centre-back also appeals to Slot and Richard Hughes.
