Depending on how this season ends, Liverpool will have a big summer ahead of them. The club could lose up to three players. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are all out of contract soon. Liverpool are reportedly waiting till the end of the season to make a decision on the renewals. The trio have been pivotal to the team’s success on the pitch this campaign.

If Van Dijk departs, the club will be in the market for a defender. Nottingham Forest star Murillo has been linked with a move to Anfield. Tuttojuve report that another defender could be on his way. Feyenoord’s David Hancko is a serious target, and is being ‘observed’ by Liverpool. The Slovakian international has previous experience under Arne Slot. Hancko can also play left back, which is something Liverpool would be keen on as Andrew Robertson nears the end of his contract. The report says that Slot could be a pivotal factor in deciding where the €35million defender goes in the summer. Juventus and Chelsea are heavily linked with the 27-year old.

Former Manchester United scout Bernard Schuiteman is a fan of the player. Schuiteman is also a former Feyenoord scout, and he believes Hancko could star for a big club:

“He can reach the highest level in football.

“Yes (he can play for Real Madrid or Liverpool), this is a player who just adapts everywhere. If he goes to Liverpool, he needs two to three weeks. After that he will be settled.”

David Hancko is a bargain in waiting

The 27-year old is a defender with a lot of experience, and was linked with a big move to Atletico Madrid. His versatility could be a huge factor too. €35million is a very good deal for Liverpool.
