Liverpool signed Alexander Isak for a British record-breaking fee of £125m. However, the saga had its own caveats as Isak claims fans don’t know the ‘whole picture’.
The summer transfer window was a fruitful one for the Reds as they broke the British transfer record twice. The Merseysiders also signed Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £116m.
Isak’s dramatic saga that helped him win a move to Anfield is open knowledge in the football world. With the Magpies reluctant to let the Swede leave, it was difficult to say the least to complete the move as the clock was running down on deadline day.
However, the move has left a lot of Newcastle fans with sour mouths considering the fashion used by the striker to sanction a move.
Interestingly, though, Swedish teammate Victor Gyökeres openly supported Alexander Isak following the incidents that took place at St. James Park.
“When it’s a player that is not wanted in that club, I think it’s the total opposite. He doesn’t have any power; the club can literally do whatever they wants with the player. It’s difficult, but it’s how the situation is”, Gyökeres told the media when asked about Isak.

Alexander Isak addresses the big elephant in the room

Isak didn’t participate when Sweden took on Slovenia in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Blågult drew the game 2-2 as they faced the Eastern European side in Ljubljana.
Manager John Dahl Tomasson mentioned Isak’s fitness issues, considering he had been away from competitive football for so long.
Yesterday, however, the Swedish striker made an appearance, coming on as a substitute in the last 20 minutes. After the match, Alexander Isak talked about the missing pieces that the fans didn’t have access to.
“It’s great that things were cleared up before international duty and that I could focus on playing football again. It’s been a fairly new situation for me, but you always learn and develop mentally off the pitch too.”
“It is what it is. It’s clear that not everyone has the whole picture, but that’s something for another day. Right now, the disappointment is about this match and how it went.”
“But at the same time, I have a positive feeling about the club team part that is coming. I can’t control everything that is said or written. But I’m glad I became a Liverpool player. That’s what I wanted and I’m happy about that”, Isak told the media.
