Agent has guaranteed his client will join Liverpool

Liverpool are set to make some changes to the squad when the transfer window opens.

The reds could lose multiple players this summer. Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk could all leave the club at the end of the season. Liverpool have already put plans in place for possible replacements.

One of the priorities will be a new defender this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano:

“I can confirm once again to you that Liverpool are really, really advancing in the process to identify the centre-back they want to sign in the summer, Liverpool will go for an important centre-back.”

“In an internal meeting they had with Richard Hughes, with people on the board involved and Arne Slot too, they all agreed on bringing in an important centre-back in the summer transfer window.”

Liverpool could lose three of their four starters in defence before next season. This includes Ibrahima Konate, who is being pursued by Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

The reds could also be looking to strengthen other positions in defence. David Lynch reported that Liverpool could be in the market for a new left back. Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez has been linked with a move to Liverpool this season. The 21-year old has had a breakout season this year. His agent Richard Henczi made some interesting comments last week. He was speaking to Anfield Watch about the possible future of Kerkez:

“I think he’s ready to go to a higher level club [than Bournemouth],”

“If he wants to go to Liverpool, he will go to Liverpool.

“I mean he has everything. I think he can’t be in the top five left-backs around the world if he plays at a smaller club.

“So it depends on his next transfer. How many minutes will he play there and how well will he play there?”

Kerkez has two goals and four assists in the Premier League this season. Bournemouth would be unwilling to sell, but a £40million fee has been rumoured.

Left back is a real concern

Andrew Robertson has been on the decline over the last year. The defender has caused some errors in games. His backup Konstantinos Tsimikas has also failed to make himself the starter. This could be why Liverpool are in the market for a new left back. Kerkez has shown his quality for Bournemouth this season. He could be a crucial signing for the reds.
