Arne Slot is probably missing Luis Diaz amidst the chaos at Anfield this season. Despite a win against Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League, Slot lost two more players to injury in Germany.
Jeremie Frimpong was subbed off in the 19th minute as the Dutch full-back felt his hamstring before going down. Frimpong’s last injury was also hamstring-related, and further checkups are underway to judge his future availability.
Alexander Isak was another victim at the Deutsche Bank Arena as the British record signing was called off at halftime. The striker is yet to score a goal for the Reds after four games under his belt.
Diaz joined Bayern Munich in the summer, after which Slot scrambled for every forward he could find. Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge put the Colombian’s impact perfectly into words.
“Luis Diaz is a massive miss for them when we look at Liverpool last year and how they used to press; he was arguably the one who set the tone in the front three.”
Former Liverpool star furious at Bayern Munich signing

Ex-Red Steve Nicol commented on the Reds’ current state. The Scotsman talked about how much Diaz brought to the table and his opinion on the star signing of Florian Wirtz.
“I think it’s more annoying when you spend a lot of money on somebody and it’s not working because then you have to figure it out at the end of the day.”
“Your attitude has to be, ‘He was great for us (Luis Diaz)’. He’s now gone. He’s playing somewhere else. Good luck to you, and forget about it.”
“So the Diaz one shouldn’t annoy you. You’ve got to look at what you’re dealing with and forget everybody else or anybody else. So, it would have to be the first one”, Nicol told ESPN.
The former Scottish international isn’t annoyed with Diaz’s decision; in fact, he respects the Colombian’s time at the club. However, the FA Cup winner was critical of Wirtz as the midfielder has zero goal contributions in the English Premier League so far.

Florian Wirtz making a comeback?
Despite the German’s underwhelming performances in the Premier League, the midfielder played a key role in Liverpool’s 5-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt.
Wirtz made two assists on his return to Germany, which might offer him the flair to actually kickstart his Liverpool career anew.
