Liverpool and Everton are eternal rivals in football.
No matter what kind of form both teams are in, whenever they clash during the Merseyside derby, there are always fireworks. The last ever Merseyside derby at Goodison park was the perfect example of this. Heading into that game in February, Liverpool were top of the league and Everton were starting click under David Moyes.
The game ended with four goals, two red cards, a fight after the final whistle and Arne Slot was also sent off. It had everything fans wanted, a last minute goal, controversy and an intense atmosphere. Both teams shared the points in that game, and they will face off when the Premier League returns from the international break.

Everton eye Liverpool star
Not many players have crossed over from Liverpool to Everton or vice versa due to the intense rivalry between both teams. In fact, it has been 23 years since a first team player made a transfer involving both teams. Liverpool and Everton haven’t moved a player directly between them since Abel Xavier in 2002. And while no other player is expected to join that list anytime soon, the latest development says otherwise.
In a shock turn of events, Everton boss David Moyes is keen on adding Ben Doak to his side this summer. The Scottish Sun reports that Moyes sees Doak as a ‘high priority’ target that can boost his team’s attack. Ben Doak has been on loan in the Championship this season with Middlesbrough, where he has contributed to 10 goals in 24 appearances this season. His form is said to have attracted Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, who could compete with Everton for the 19-year old this summer.
Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was a big fan of the youngster when he arrived at Anfield:
”He is really a lively boy, a smart player, good dribbler, fast, can use both legs. He’s good. It was nice to watch, really nice to watch – him coming in and immediately a lot of things are obviously natural to him, which is really helpful.”
No contact has been made between both teams, and Liverpool will not be eager to sell. However a fee around £25million has been mentioned.
