Liverpool are set to be handed a huge blow ahead of the summer transfer window.
The reds signed two first team players over the last two transfer windows. Federico Chiesa joined from Juventus on a cut-price deal. Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili also joined Liverpool on a permanent deal. The club loaned the Georgian international back to the La Liga side for the rest of the season. In January, Liverpool refused to accept any offers for their first team stars. Saudi Pro League clubs offered big money for Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah. Real Madrid also had an offer rejected for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Liverpool planned to keep their best players till the end of the season. The club were in position to challenge for silverware, and it made no sense to lose key players. The reds could lift the treble at the end of the campaign. Arne Slot could win his first trophy against Newcastle in the League Cup final in the coming weeks.

Liverpool suffer blow as Newcastle send out transfer warning

Liverpool will be busy this summer as they plan to make changes to the squad. With the possible departure of key players, the time has come to make some changes. Star trio Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk are all set to leave at the end of the season. All three are out of contract in the summer. Other Liverpool players could follow. Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are names that have been linked with moves away.
The Daily Mail reports that Newcastle has sent out messages to clubs and agents across the league ahead of this summer. The Magpies insist they are in a strong financial position in line with PSR rules and will not be forced to sell players. This means the club could keep Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Liverpool were reportedly willing to offer Darwin Nunez in exchange for Alexander Isak.
Isak and Gordon deals could be off
If Newcastle are stable, they do not have to sell their best players. This comes as a huge blow to Liverpool who have been linked with Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak over the past year. The reds will now have to look elsewhere to find players to revamp their attack.
Liverpool could still sign at least one of the two stars, but would have to pay a huge fee to do so.
