Liverpool continue their charge to win the treble this season.
The reds maintained their seven-point lead on top of the Premier League on Sunday. Arne Slot’s side were able to bag three points against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield. Luis Diaz opened the scoring in the first half, as he bundled the ball past Jose Sa during a defensive mix-up. Luis Diaz then won a penalty after making a run behind the Wolves defence only to be brought down in the box. Mohamed Salah stepped up to score his 22nd league goal of the season.
Matheus Cunha scored the only goal in the second half at the 67th minute. Liverpool then had a shaky end to the game as Wolves piled on the pressure. Arne Slot and the team were grateful for the final whistle.

Liverpool to enter swap deal for £100M star
The reds have plans for this summer. On the top of the list for the club is attackers. Club chairman Tom Werner was in the stands on Sunday, watching Matheus Cunha score. The Brazilian forward has a £62million release clause this summer. Liverpool have been linked with a move for Cunha, alongside Manchester United. Arne Slot has not been a big fan of Darwin Nunez this season, and has opted for Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz upfront. Reports claim the club are ready to offload Nunez, Jota and Diaz for the right offers this summer.
Football Insider report that Liverpool are ready to tempt Newcastle’s resolve with a swap deal. The reds are ready to exchange Darwin Nunez and a fee for Alexander Isak. The Magpies striker is expected to be the hottest striker on the transfer market this summer. Newcastle value the 25-year old well over £100million.
Newcastle will probably not take Nunez-Isak swap
Considering the gap in quality between the two players involved, the Magpies will probably not accept the deal. Nunez has yet to justify his price tag since joining. Alexander Isak has proved he is one of the best strikers in the league, and in Europe. No matter what fee Liverpool could offer in the exchange, it would be hard to convince them that Darwin Nunez is worth signing.
Liverpool do need a striker in the upcoming window, and Isak looks like the best option available. Wolves forward Matheus Cunha could be the affordable alternative.
