Despite not making any permanent transfers this month, Liverpool have been linked with multiple players.
The Reds have made just one permanent first team addition since Arne Slot took over; Federico Chiesa joined on a cut-price deal from Juventus. The Dutch coach has maximized the talent available in the team this season. Players who failed to impress last year have now become key players this campaign.
Most notably Ryan Gravenberch; the midfielder went from making 12 league starts last season to becoming one of the best players in the league. Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz also seem to have gone up a level under Arne Slot. The Reds have exceeded expectations this season and sit top of the Premier League and the Champions League group phase.
Quiz: Can you name these 10 former Premier League players?

Club chairman speaks on €18M Liverpool target

With the slow decline of Andrew Robertson this season, Liverpool have been in search of a long term left back. Konstantinos Tsimikas has also failed to make the position his own since he arrived at the club. Unlike at right back, where the club have high hopes about Conor Bradley, the left back position is still up for grabs.
This has lead to Liverpool being strongly linked with Slavia Prague wingback El Hadji Malick Diouf. The defender is said to be reportedly available for around €18million. Now, Slavia Prague chairman Jaroslav Tvrdik has admitted that it would be impossible for the club to keep the young Senegalese international at the club if a bid was made:
”If Liverpool and Chelsea, who were also interested in him, had come with an offer of around 17-18 million euros, I would have hesitated to approach it differently from the perspective of promoting the club or the player’s interest.
If Chelsea comes, we wouldn’t keep anyone. Nothing will change, it’s just not possible objectively. One has to admit that the Czech league and Slavia have some limits. Even PSG, when it comes to breaking the bank, won’t keep their player and he’ll go to Real Madrid. We’re part of a football chain and we’re not at the top of it.”
Diouf has reservations about transfer deal
Despite being highly rated by several clubs in Europe, the wing back made it clear in a recent interview that he would prefer not to move to a big club and sit on the bench.
“I don’t know if that is true [about Liverpool].”
“Yes, it sounds nice, but would I play for Liverpool? Would I fit in there? For me, it is essential that I don’t stop. It is difficult to move from the substitute bench. I need to play.”
