Liverpool are hoping to make some new signings when the summer window opens.
With months left to end Arne Slot’s first season in charge, the reds have identified areas of the squad to improve. The lack of quality depth has cost Liverpool multiple times this season. Slot rotated key players in the FA Cup exit to Plymouth, the team had no potent options off the bench in the loss to PSG and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s absence was felt in the League Cup final.
Heading into the summer, Arne Slot has hinted at Liverpool’s transfer plans:
“I know people sometimes question this because they haven’t seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well,” said Slot.
“There’s a reason for that – because we’re happy with the squad. But I do know we’re definitely working on strengthening in the summer.”

Liverpool’s defence will need some major retooling when the season ends. Aside the fact that the reds will need to recruit new centerbacks, fullback is also an area that needs strengthening. Trent Alexander-Arnold is on his way out of the club according to reports this week. And with the steady decline of Andrew Robertson, Liverpool may need a new fullback pairing this summer.
Robertson’s contract expires in 2026, and with Konstantinos Tsimikas yet to cement his place in the first team, the need for a new left back is urgent. Liverpool have been linked with Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez all season. The left back is having arguably his best campaign in England, with two goals and five assists in the league.
Kerkez has recently dropped a huge hint about his future, in an interview with The Athletic:
“As a kid, you dream to play at the highest level, win the trophies, be on the best teams.
“These are the things that my agent is on. My dad is on. It is not something that they occupy me with because the season is still going, so there’s no point to talk about anything. There’s games left, the FA Cup is important for us — these are big things.
“And then, like I say, when someone comes (in for you) you never know what’s going to happen or where you’re going to end up. In the summer, we will see what happens.”
Bournemouth value the Hungarian international around £40million.
