Liverpool are very wary of potential exits ahead of this summer.
In line with the pending revamp of the squad, the reds understand that multiple players will have to leave to make way for new faces. Liverpool have around £250million to spend, which could be increased with sales of players.
Arne Slot has already voiced his concerns with the reds’ attackers. Reports suggest the likes of Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could all be on their way out of Anfield when the window opens. But they are not the only players set for a move this summer.

Liverpool demand huge fee for homegrown star

Liverpool are heading into a crucial summer window. The club are set to lose three of their starting backline this summer. Trent Alexander-Arnold is already on his way to Real Madrid. Virgil Van Dijk is also set to leave at the end of the season. And with Ibrahima Konate attracting interest and one year left on his current deal, the reds could be forced into a transfer.
Newcastle could make things worse for Liverpool this summer. The Magpies are keeping tabs on Jarrel Quansah ahead of this summer. Newcastle see the defender as a valuable asset, and are willing to pay a huge fee to sign him. The Magpies believe £30million will be enough to sign the 22-year old. But Liverpool will refer Newcastle to their initial £50million valuation of the youngster last summer.
Earlier this year, Newcastle Chief Executive Darren Eales said the club will be ambitious in the market this summer:
“We’re in a position now, where because we were able to move a couple of players in January that weren’t really impacting on minutes on the pitch, we’ve got that wish and desire to keep our key players.
“They’re all under long-term contracts. We’re not under the gun or anything like that. We’ve got an ownership that is ambitious and wants the best for the club. So, from that perspective, it’d be crazy for us to consider it.”
Should the reds sell Quansah?
At 22-years old, Jarrel Quansah is at the prime of his valuation. This could be the perfect time to sell the defender. But it comes down to Liverpool’s plans. With Virgil Van Dijk, and possibly Ibrahima Konate leaving in the summer, Quansah is in line to be a regular starter. But his age and relative inexperience means it may take time for him to adapt.
If Liverpool do lose two of their best defenders, there should be no reason to sell Jarrel Quansah. However, if the reds are able to keep the duo, they can sell the England star and reinvest in the squad.
