£36m Liverpool star stuns fans with shock stay confirmation

A £36m Liverpool star has stunned fans by confirming his stay at Anfield in a shock twist to the summer transfer saga. The player, long linked with a potential exit, has finally broken his silence, delivering a clear message about his Liverpool future.

Liverpool have shown since winning the Premier League that they are not prepared to stand still, and their pursuit of Florian Wirtz is a sign of their ambition for the coming years.

However, Arne Slot has also been keen to hold on to his best players and has directed the club to offer new contracts to several stars, who he feels deserve a pay rise.

Negotiations over new deals have not gone smoothly with certain players, but one of those Liverpool stars has now confirmed his stay at the club despite the ongoing exit rumours.

£36m Liverpool star provides a confirmation of his shock stay at Anfield

Ibrahima Konate has a year left on his contract at Liverpool, and the club are yet to make progress in talks over a new deal with the player’s representatives.

The Frenchman’s demands have shocked Liverpool, but the club are trying to reach a compromise with his camp this summer.

There are suggestions that Liverpool could sell the defender if he doesn’t sign a new deal, but Konate has more or less confirmed that he will be at Anfield next season.

“What a season”, Konate posted a photo on Instagram and wrote.

“Thank you to all the fans for the love and support this year. You’ve been amazing from start to finish.

“It’s been a great season for me and for the club, so many special moments, and of course winning our 20th Premier League title… unforgettable!

“Now it’s time to rest, enjoy the holidays, and come back even stronger (and you the fans because we’ll need your energy and voice as well)

“Next season, we go again!”

The defender said nothing about signing a new contract and could still leave on a free transfer next summer.
