Arne Slot believes Liverpool has got pretty good backups for the regulars
Liverpool are preparing for the upcoming transfer windows with the intent of spending considerable money to back new manager Arne Slot.
The new Liverpool manager’s start to life at Anfield has given confidence to the club hierarchy to be more aggressive in the transfer market in the upcoming months.
Liverpool are intent on signing a midfielder in the winter transfer window and are putting plans in place for next summer as well.
The Reds are likely to invest in centre-backs and forwards but their plans are likely to demand on the future of several of their star players whose contracts are running down.
Of particular interest to the club is Trent Alexander-Arnold who is yet to agree to sign a new deal and is wanted at Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer.
Liverpool are expecting the player to sign a new contract before Christmas but nothing has been signed or agreed yet and Real Madrid are still keen.
The Reds have identified contingencies if Alexander-Arnold leaves and they are interested in signing Sevilla’s Juanlu Sanchez in the summer.
Real Madrid have their eyes on the Liverpool target as well
Alexander-Arnold has been identified as a priority target by Real Madrid and the club are pushing to convince him to move to the Spanish capital.
However, Real Madrid would only move for him if he doesn’t sign a new deal as otherwise, the club feel a deal would be unfeasible.
The Spanish giants have identified other right-back targets as well and the club are tracking a few names.
According to The Athletic, Juanlu is one of the alternatives Real Madrid would move for if Alexander-Arnold stays at Liverpool.
The Spaniard is seen as a great talent in La Liga and Real Madrid have been keeping tabs on his performances this season.
The protagonists of the Alexander-Arnold saga, Liverpool and Real Madrid, would be both interested in the Juanlu depending on what the Englishman does.
