In a dramatic transfer twist, West Ham have reportedly hijacked Leeds United’s move for a Liverpool veteran, shifting the momentum in one of this week’s most unexpected deals. The experienced player, previously linked with a move to Leeds, is now said to be leaning towards a move to London, with the Hammers stepping in at the perfect moment. This surprise development could mark another major exit from Anfield as the summer shake-up continues.
Liverpool are set to take a pause in the market after the imminent arrival of Milos Kerkez, and focus on player sales and observe a few market developments.
The Merseyside giants have already finalised the imminent departure of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen, and one more Red centre-back could be on his way out this summer.
Joe Gomez could be leaving Liverpool this summer, with West Ham and Leeds among the several Premier League clubs interested in getting their hands on him this summer.
Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
West Ham ahead of Leeds in the race to Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez

Former Premier League scout Mick Brown has confirmed West Ham’s interest in Gomez in the summer transfer window.
He revealed West Ham are monitoring the defender to check whether he becomes available for sale in the coming weeks.
Leeds are also interested in Gomez, but Brown insisted the Hammers are ahead in the race due to Graham Potter’s willingness to push for the centre-back’s arrival.
“West Ham are interested in signing Joe Gomez”, Brown told Football Insider.
“He’s going to be a backup player again at Liverpool, but they’re keeping a close eye on things in case they decide they want to cash in.
“It will all depend on what they want to do because he’s still a part of their squad.
“If Liverpool sign another centre-back as it looks like they might do, he’ll be pushed even further down the pecking order.
“West Ham aren’t the only interested club, he’s been linked to Everton and Leeds as well.
“If Liverpool decide to let him go, there will be a lot of clubs looking to bring him in.
“My sources tell me that Potter wants to strengthen at the back, and he sees Gomez as a good option.
“They’re keeping a close eye on his situation, and if he is allowed to leave, I expect they’ll be ready to make a move.”
