£16m Liverpool Star Set to Stay After Shock Transfer U-Turn

A £16m Liverpool player is now expected to stay at the club this summer after a shock transfer U-turn. The reversal comes as a surprise to both fans and insiders, and could have a ripple effect on Liverpool’s transfer plans going forward in the ongoing transfer window.

Liverpool are set to focus on player sales in the next few weeks following the arrival of Milos Kerkez, who is set to become the third new signing for the first team this summer.

The Merseyside giants have already sold Caoimhin Kelleher and have a deal in place to move on Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen in the coming days.

Harvey Elliott is also expected to move on amid interest from Brighton, but one more midfielder is set to stay at Anfield, contrary to popular belief towards the end of last season.

Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?

£16m Liverpool has made a U-turn on leaving

Wataru Endo featured for just 260 minutes in the Premier League last season and was nothing more than a fringe member of the squad.

However, it emerged at the end of the campaign that Arne Slot would want to hold on to the midfielder for his experience and his usefulness in closing out games.

Liverpool reporter David Lynch has confirmed that Endo has no plans to leave Liverpool as well, and is happy to remain a squad player at Anfield.

“As things stand at the moment and what you hear, you don’t think midfield is going to be an area of focus, to be honest. You don’t get that feeling. Yeah, you don’t get that feeling that it’s a priority”, Lyon told Sports Mole.

“Spots are opening up, Harvey Elliott, there’s a real chance he goes now, but I spoke to people close to Wataru Endo only a couple of weeks ago and I don’t think he’s going to go, he’s determined to stay, and I did not expect that to be honest.

“I thought he’d be willing to move on to play more football.”
