Manchester City could beat Liverpool to €100M signing - FSG mustn't let them

According to The Independent, Manchester City is at the forefront of European clubs eyeing a summer move for Bayern Munich's prodigious talent Jamal Musiala.

The English champions' interest is reportedly more advanced than that of their competitors in securing the 21-year-old, who has emerged as one of the continent's most sought-after playmakers.

Musiala is seeking assurances about Bayern Munich's competitive edge following a challenging season.

Despite Musiala's contract with the German giants extending until 2026, his reluctance to sign an extension amidst growing interest suggests he might be open to a move either this year or the next, with Manchester City leading the charge for his signature.

The club is keen on bolstering its attack, particularly as Phil Foden assumes a more central role and Kevin De Bruyne enters his mid-thirties.

City's recruitment strategy includes targeting versatile forwards, with Musiala fitting the bill perfectly alongside other targets such as Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United and Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.

Securing Musiala would be considered a significant triumph for City, marking him as one of the world's future top talents.

However, such a high-profile acquisition could potentially lead to the departure of another star player from the squad.

The Independent notes Musiala's preference for the Premier League for his next career move, influenced by his upbringing in west London and the league's global stature. Despite choosing to represent Germany internationally over England at the age of 17, his affinity for the English game remains strong.

Liverpool, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are also in the mix for Musiala's signature, though their pursuit is tempered by varying budgetary constraints, according to The Independent's report.

Liverpool must do EVERYTHING they can to beat City to Musiala

Make no mistake.

Jamal Musiala will be one of the very best players in the world for a long time.

Playing in the Bundesliga has led to Musiala becoming underrated in my opinion, but once he moves to the Premier League, he's finally going to get all the credit he deserves and more.

And if he's not at Liverpool, then it's going to be a massive problem for the Reds and whoever is coaching them (potentially Ruben Amorim).

That said, the young attacker will likely cost somewhere in the region of €100 million so it may be beyond Liverpool if their historic transfer behaviour is an indication of anything.
