"But it is clear": LFC have not agreed personal terms with Amorim but "process" has begun

Liverpool have not yet agreed personal terms with Ruben Amorim but the Merseysiders have initiated their due diligence process as a decision to hire the 39-year-old is deliberated on.

While initially claims came from Florian Plettenberg and Sky Germany that Amorim had already verbally agreed on personal terms with Liverpool, that's not true.

At least, according to Sky Sports (in England) and reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

He report, via GMS: "Our colleagues at Sky in Germany were reporting that personal terms had been agreed in principle between Liverpool and Ruben Amorim about him becoming Jurgen Klopp's successor.

"But then our sources in Merseyside are saying 'look that's wholly inaccurate'. They're going through a due process, which they obviously would.

"But it is clear that Ruben Amorim is going to be one of the favourites, if not the favourite, for the Liverpool job following Xabi Alonso's decision to stay on at Bayer Leverkusen."

The sooner Liverpool appoint a new manager, the better

I, and many other fans, are beginning to grow a little concerned over how long this process is taking Liverpool.

Owners FSG were made aware of Jurgen Klopp desire to leave the club at the end of the season all the way back in November and while it was only publicised in late January, it's almost the end of the season and we're still waiting.

Of course, having said that, I am desperate to see Liverpool make the right appointment and if that means we need to wait months, I'm prepared.

Klopp brought Liverpool out of the dark ages and I'm just as desperate to see our new manager confirmed in good time as I am for Liverpool to remain a fighting force in Europe.
