Liverpool will have to wait until summer window for £34m signing

Liverpool are interested in signing Kenan Yildiz but they will have to wait to sign him until the summer after Moise Kean suffered an injury.

The 18-year-old striker is now expected to receive more minutes for the Serie A outfit after Kean suffered a tibia injury which will sideline him for a few weeks.

The injury has alerted Juventus to potential depth issues up front with Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik the only other options at centre forward.

Latest on Liverpool transfer interest in Kenan Yildiz

Yilidiz has recently emerged as a target for Jurgen Klopp but the £34 million-rated forward will not be an option for Liverpool in the January transfer window, according to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato.

Kean's injury "paves the way" for Yildiz to play a more important role in Massimiliano Allegri's squad thus ruling out a potential New Year transfer.

Liverpool have reportedly been "following him for some time now" but Arsenal are understood to be the most interested and want to move to sign him in the "next few months".

Juventus and Allegri are in agreement that Yildiz should not be sold. They rejected an €8 million offer from Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window.

Should Liverpool sign a new striker?

Darwin Nunez has sparked debate among Liverpool fans online with some suggesting he's not up to scratch and others believing he will prove his worth in time.

Liverpool spent an upfront fee worth £64 million which could rise to a club record fee of £85 million and naturally the club and supporters may feel he should be making good on that investment already.

The former Benfica star hasn't scored a goal in his last 10 goals in all competitions which is cause for concern. He does, however, have seven goals and seven assists so far this season. There is still plenty of time for Nunez to reach an impressive tally for the 2023/24 season.

It's certainly too soon to suggest he should be sold.
