Liverpool can seal bargain £38.6M deal for 25-year-old attacker

Liverpool could secure a discount move to sign Juventus star Federico Chiesa this summer.

Jurgen Klopp has taken his squad to his native Germany for the next phase of their 2023 pre-season preparations before they will jet off to Asia to take part in friendlies against Bayern Munich and Leicester City.

Behind the scenes, the Reds are working hard to provide the manager with the signings he needs to bounce back from last season's disappointing finish.

While Liverpool's main focus of this summer market is to rebuild and revamp the midfield, links to forwards like Jeremy Doku keep popping up.

Federico Chiesa has also been constantly linked with a move to Anfield.

What's the latest on Federico Chiesa to Liverpool?

It was initially reported by Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport that Juve value Chiesa at €60M (£51M). Given the limited resources available to Klopp, this was a prohibitive price tag for the Reds.

It's reported by Calcio Mercato Web that Liverpool and Bayern Munich, the forward's main suitors, have been given a discount and must now only pay €45M (£38.6M).

While the 25-year-old hasn't managed more than four goals a season since 2021 when he finished the season with 15 strikes and 11 assists, recent turbulence at Juventus may account for this drop-off.

Liverpool can sign Chiesa on the cheap and, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the player fancies a move to Anfield.
