Former Red "set" to join up with Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich

Former Red "set" to join up with Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich

After Thomas Tuchel was recently dismissed there have been whispers swirling about who may take over Bayern Munich.

Even though Xabi Alonso was thought to be the front-runner for the position, following an undefeated season, he recently reaffirmed his commitment to Bayern Leverkusen, the recent Bundesliga Champions.

The recent acquisition of Arne Slot by Liverpool has further limited the German giants' quest, although new sources suggest that they are now focusing on Vincent Kompany of Burnley.

With a former Liverpool player set to follow suit and join up with Kompany as his assistant.

Craig Bellamy, a former Red and former teammate of Kompany's, is reportedly "set for Bayern Munich role" according to Rousing The Kop.

The former Reds looks set to join up with the Belgian once more but this time at the Allianz Arena.

Although it's unclear if he was the front-runner from the start, other people have since been connected to the position, including Erik ten Hag of Manchester United, who hasn't made any comment as to whether he was interested.

Will he sink or swim?

With Alonso's Leverkusen dominating the Bundesliga this year, Kompany will have a difficult task in trying to turn around the 32-time champions after placing third in the Bundesliga last season.

Under Kompany's direction, Burnley had a dismal season, placing 19th and eight points outside of the safety zone. The Clarets failed to live up to the expectations placed on them by many, even if they demonstrated potential in the Championship.

I think the manager has to share part of the blame as well, not just the players. In my opinion, Kompany is a young and inexperienced manager who could struggle at Bayern Munich, especially in light of the struggles of managers with more experience, like Tuchel, who have won several titles, including the Premier League and the Champions League.

In my opinion, the German team is attempting to hire a name rather than a coach with great tactical judgement. Although many of the eligible candidates are presently employed, I think Roberto De Zerbi, who recently announced his departure from Brighton, would have been the finest choice.

In my opinion, Kompany will fail since there are already more successful parties in the Bundesliga that I think will only get bigger.
