Arne Slot gives "green light" on PSV Eindhoven Winger as he looks to revamp the frontline

Despite not taking over until June 1st, it has been rumoured that Arne Slot has already has his sights on his first signing of the new era at Liverpool

With Slot already stating that Darwin Nunez is still a part of his plans, he seeks to expand the arsenal and assist the Uruguayan

The Man in Demand

According to well-known journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Johan Bakayoko is one of the names on the table for Liverpool this summer, having been authenticated by both Barry Hunter and Arne Slot.

However, they will have to compete with Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig as the current Eredivisie star searches for Champions League football once more.

One in, One out?

Despite Mohamed Salah's statement that he desires to stay with the Reds, increased interest from Saudi Arabia may influence Liverpool's stance.

Bakayoko has been "on their radar for more than 12 months" and has made 28 goal contributions this season, making him an ideal replacement for Salah.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Liverpool could land Bakayoko even if the Egyptian wasn't to depart this summer and his services might be had for less than £50 million.

Overall Opinion

Liverpool's attacking options are predominantly on the left flank, with Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo being the most prominent. However, on the right side, there are just Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott. With Elliott playing out of position.

Elliott's skillset make him better suited as an attacking midfielder than a winger, therefore the acquisition of Johan Bakayoko would provide another dimension to the attack, and allow Liverpool to utilise the talent of Elliott.

Statistics also show that Bakayoko's play style differs from that of the existing forwards; with an estimated 4.69 crosses per 90 minutes, he might be vital with linking up and assisting his teammates.

Along with his speed and physicality, this is likely to bode well for him if he decides to transfer to the Premier League for the first time in his career.
