Liverpool have been tipped to target one of the Premier League’s most underrated players who has just rejected a new deal.
The Reds are in dire need of some midfield reinforcement, having lost Thiago, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to injuries in recent times.
Injuries coupled with a winless start in the PL after three games has ramped up the pressure on the club as they now scramble for a signing before the window closes in just over a week.
One signing that has come forward as making financial and football sense is Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans who has rejected a new deal and is currently in the final year of his deal.
Here is the absolute beauty of a goal by Tielemans.
What a goal 🚀

Latest reports on Youri Tielemans
The Leicester City midfielder has been a key player for the Foxes but seemingly wants a new challenge after three years at the club.
Having rejected a new deal, he is now in the last year of his current contract and could move on for a fee of around £30m.
According to the Daily Express Sport: “A move for Tielemans, who is out of contract at the end of the season, could be an interesting one to pursue for Liverpool and the 25-year-old is likely to be available for a relatively modest fee after turning down the offer of a new deal at Leicester City.”
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says he can’t pick players who aren’t in the right frame of mind after dropping Arsenal target Youri Tielemans.

He reportedly only earns around £33k-a-week, but he is highly valued at £49.5M. However, it’s likely Liverpool could secure a cheaper deal given his situation and the player could come straight into the side having started the season for Leicester.
He had been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, however, there was no guarantee he would start ahead of Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey – which is why he’s been dragging his feet over that potential move.
Rumours suggest Arsenal are lining up a bid but they haven’t, as of yet, submitted anything official. According to Belgian football reporter Sacha Tavolieri – Tielemans is still very much a target for the Gunners a bid is being prepared to be sent to Leicester this week.
How would he fit in?
Versatile, experienced and hungry – Tielemans would give Liverpool’s midfield something that’s lacked for years.
He’s a midfielder who can contribute going forward, can see a pass, can cover distance and even score from distance.
This type of assist (below) is an example of how he can help this current Liverpool side. Can’t you imagine Tielemans picking up the ball in central areas and playing this ball to Mohamed Salah to finish?

He ranks in the 80th-94th percentile for: shots total, progressive passes, shot-creating actions, passes attempted, assists, xG assisted and non-penalty xG + xA (all per 90).
He’s an all-action midfielder who has an eye for goal and can also play across a midfield three or midfield two.
If Liverpool make the smart move to sign in-league then it will surely benefit them.
Other options on the market aren’t PL proven and the Reds need stability and quality and they need it now.
