Shockwaves at Liverpool as Real Madrid close in on another Red

Real Madrid are almost certain to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer from Liverpool this summer. The defender has no chance of doing a U-turn on his decision, but Liverpool are now facing the threat of losing another star man to the Spanish giants.

Liverpool have been left disappointed at the way Real Madrid chased Alexander-Arnold over the last year, and convinced him to ignore offers of a new deal from the Reds.

The right-back was seen as a future Liverpool captain, and the club are unhappy they are losing one of the best full-backs in the world for nothing in the summer.

Alexis Mac Allister has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and while those links were not being taken seriously, their interest in him seems more credible than previously thought.

Liverpool have real worries around Mac Allister

The Argentinian midfielder has had a great season at Liverpool and is one of the most important players in Arne Slot’s squad.

He still has three years left on his contract, and Liverpool have more control over the situation than the Alexander-Arnold scenario.

However, Marca journalist Jose Felix Diaz has claimed that Real Madrid are closer to signing Mac Allister than Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

He teased that there is far more to Real Madrid’s interest in the World Cup winner than what has come out in the media.

“Mac Allister is closer to Real Madrid than Zubimendi”, the Marca journalist was quoted as saying by Sport Witness.

“I know more things, but I can’t tell them yet.”

It seems Real Madrid have started their usual media campaign for a player they want, but Liverpool must hold firm and show that they can’t be messed around with in the market.
