Shock twist as Liverpool make bold decision on attacker’s future

Liverpool need player sales to balance their books and reshape the squad as Arne Slot looks to build on last season’s Premier League success. However, the Reds have taken a tough negotiating stance on the departure of one of their title heroes.

Jeremie Frimpong has joined the club as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s replacement, and the club are keen to close out a deal to sign Florian Wirtz for a club-record fee in the coming days.

Liverpool are also set to spend more than £40m for Milos Kerkez, but the club also need player sales and have already moved on Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford for an initial fee of £13.5m.

The Reds are keen to move on a few more fringe stars in the coming weeks, but the club are ready to dig in their heels to get the best deal possible for certain players.

The Reds make a major transfer decision on a potential departure

Federico Chiesa will leave Liverpool after one season, and Atletico Madrid are among the clubs who want to take him away from Anfield this summer.

However, he is likely to return to Italy, and AC Milan have shown real interest in the winger and have already thrashed out a verbal agreement with him.

According to Italian journalist Orazio Accomando, the Rossoneri have opened talks with Liverpool to discuss a deal to take Chiesa to the San Siro.

However, the negotiations will be complicated as, for now, Liverpool do not want to discuss a loan deal for the Italian’s departure.

AC Milan plan to sign him on loan with an option to buy, but Liverpool will push for a definite sale to sort out Chiesa’s future.

The two clubs will continue to hold talks over the next few weeks to find a solution to break this major deadlock.
